The Creative Process

Since I've already made a video about painting, I thought it would be appropriate to show how I sketch and ink as well.  

Essentially, I start off each page with the last.  I delete all the Photoshop layers and start fresh on a single layer of white.  I make a sketch layer, then inks, then a base coat of paint, shadows, highlights, effects, etc.

It all happens organically as I draw it.  It's truly a creative process.

I ended up using an entire album as the background music because this video is over twice as long as the previous one.  The reason being is twofold: I captured more this time and the sketching is arguably the most important part - so it takes longer.

If you notice, I upgraded from the ancient Photoshop CS3 to the newer (and smoother on video) Photoshop CC.  You may also notice a cameo appearance from a certain prominent Valve employee...
