On the contrary, bish. I am thriving

I spent the entire morning today trying to get my old couch into my spare room - what we refer to as our office. It’s where we keep our computer setups and it’s where I’m typing this right now. I discovered very quickly, that it ain’t gon’ work, Chief. It wouldn’t even fit through the door.

After lamenting for a few minutes, I remembered something I had learned my first year in Birmingham. When you live in a major city, if you just post about something being free online it’ll be gone in minutes. So that’s exactly what I did. I’ll give this to old Zuck, Facebook Marketplace is the way to get rid of stuff. It’s way less sketch than Craigslist. Within ten minutes, I had forty takers. It’s bonkers. I literally lost my bonkers.

It was perfect timing too, because just as those guys came and picked up the old couch, I got a brand new one delivered. My morning, all morning: couches.

Thriving.

FLOLAS Page 47 is almost done. It’s a complicated piece with 7 different images, the center of which is very ornate. It’s taken a long time to paint. I’ve been really trying to get at least one page done per month this year, but obviously that hasn’t happened.

Today is the Winter Solstice, Twenty Twenty Two, the shortest day and longest night of the year. I had some ideas mulling about in my mind about today’s blog; about demons, people, society, relationships, expectations from the world… I think I’ll let them mull a bit longer. I’ve actually been writing a lot in general. I’ve been taking notes while I play video games. I’ve been opening notepad sporadically to jot down some idea about FLOLAS or movies or games or philosophy. My mind wanders.

The world has gotten better, and I’d like to ride that vibe for a while. Twenty Twenty feels like a very long time ago now - a different age. Even Twenty Twenty One feels that way to me. Here’s to looking towards the future 🥂

I think 2023 will be the best one yet.
